The Victor Bar

Food + DrinkNorth Center · Cocktail Bar Community-sourced, unverified
📍 4011 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60618

The Victor Bar brought a Parisian cocktail-den sensibility to the Damen and Irving corner when it opened in 2016, and it's held that identity since — low light, a tight, well-built drink list, and a bites menu that's intentionally small (chips, caramels, truffles) and sometimes sells out entirely rather than padding the kitchen with filler.

$$

The old-fashioned comes in four spirit variations — rye, mezcal, rum or brandy — and Time Out's reviewers specifically point to the Optimo, a pineapple rum, Luxardo and sherry cocktail, as the drink worth asking for by name.

It's a date-night bar more than a group hang, built for people who want their cocktail taken seriously without the fuss of a full speakeasy theme.
