Three generations later, sausage is still the thing this place is built on — Time Out Chicago, Chicago Magazine, and Serious Eats have all written it up specifically for that reason. It functions as a real old-school Italian deli and grocery as much as a sandwich counter: cold cuts, imported goods, made-to-order hot and cold sandwiches, with a line that moves fast even when it wraps around the room.
