Flaurie was the first carhop and remained a genuine 50% business partner, not just a namesake, until she died in 2018 at 92; Maurie turned down offers to join larger fast-food chains to keep running his own place, and died in 2015 at 89. Their kids and grandkids still run it today -- 'we learned our ABCs in the restaurant,' as one daughter put it.
The signature Superdawg comes with a pickled green tomato wedge and homemade crinkle-cut fries. This is the original; the Wheeling location that opened in 2010 rebuilt the look here, not the other way around.
