Streeterville Social turns the Loews Chicago Hotel's third-floor terrace into one of the city's more scenic seasonal rooftop bars, with skyline views built around shareable bites and hand-crafted cocktails rather than a full dinner menu.

It occupies a space with real restaurant history behind it — the same address once housed Rural Society, chef Jose Garces' Argentine steakhouse, before that closed in 2017 — and the hotel has since repositioned the space as a purely warm-weather destination instead of a year-round restaurant. That seasonality is the single most important thing to know before planning a visit: the terrace is 100% outdoors, typically running from mid-to-late May through early fall, and closes outright for the winter months (as of this research, it's closed and not reopening until 2027). Reservations run through Resy for parties up to 12, with a summer smart-casual dress code and an 18-plus policy unless accompanied by an adult.

Outside food isn't allowed beyond birthday cakes and corked-in wine bottles, a detail worth knowing if you're planning a celebration there. One genuine disappointment for visitors: despite sitting close to Navy Pier, the terrace's sightlines don't actually capture the pier's summer fireworks, so don't plan a visit specifically around that.
