Strapoli Pizza's recipes trace back to a family pizzeria in Merida, Venezuela, where founder Marcial Bereciartu's parents spent decades behind the oven and the whole family, Bereciartu included, grew up learning the craft hands-on.

The family's reputation has grown fast enough to open a second, full-sit-down location in Roscoe Village, and both have real outside validation behind them — Italy's own 50 Top Pizza USA guide designated Strapoli 'excellent' in its 2026 rankings, a genuinely international stamp of approval for a pizza program that started with a family recipe carried from Venezuela rather than imported directly from Naples.

The business now runs as a genuine family operation on this side of the move too, with Bereciartu's parents and brother all involved. No confirmed hours or phone number turned up in research — the current menu lives behind a seasonal PDF on the restaurant's own site — but the Instagram handle and website are both confirmed directly. No happy hour applies to a pizza-focused counter-and-dining concept, but an 'excellent' rating from an actual Neapolitan pizza authority is a harder credential to find than a discount.
