That's the point. It's the project of a hospitality trio, Georgi, Kris and Daniela, who built it on years of traveling through Europe and on their own European roots, and the menu reads like that trip: Mediterranean and European plates, mostly built for sharing, with real options for vegetarians and vegans rather than a token pasta. Order the way the kitchen wants you to. Start with the Social Spread and the beet mezze, add a shopska salad (tomato, cucumber, a snowfall of white cheese) and the mini beef kufte, then decide whether you're a tipsy-shrimp-and-calamari table or a pork-chops-marsala table. Pastas like rigatoni with sausage cover the in-between.
Thursday is the night to circle: Ladies Night runs all night with $9 select drinks, and the bar also runs a happy hour with special pricing on drinks and bites. Social Inn opens at 4pm every day and closes at 10pm Sunday through Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday. Reservations are taken, and it's a go-to for private parties. The family-style banquet packages start at $35 a head, which makes it one of the easier calls in Glenview for a birthday or a team dinner.
