It is not a serious place, and it would like you to know that. The pizza, however, is very serious. The pies are 8-by-10-inch Detroit rectangles with a frico edge, the caramelized ring of cheese baked against the pan that crunches against the gooey brick cheese and sauce inside. The Moon Walk '1969' is the classic cheese pie, and the Pepperoni Pile-Up does what it says. The creative ones are where Sharpies earns its reputation. The Onion Eclipse is French onion soup in pizza form. The Sausage Singularity brings fennel-forward sausage and Calabrian chiles.

The Sweet & Salty Space Candy piles bacon, goat cheese, sambal and pineapple onto one crust and somehow makes it work. Don't skip the wings. The Big Bang Buffalo is the spicy pick and the Garlic Galaxy Glaze is the mild one, and the Burning Star blooming onion is the starter. The drinks are draft cocktails rather than a full bar, built around the house Atomic Juice and poured over crushed ice. The Sharpies Hot Rod plays like a souped-up whiskey sour. Grab a booth or a bar stool; walk-ins are welcome. Sharpies opens at 4pm Wednesday through Sunday and stays open until 10pm, later on weekends.
