Santorini built its Greektown reputation on whole fish done simply — Greek-style red snapper or black sea bass, filleted tableside on request, dressed with little more than lemon and olive oil, the kind of preparation that lets genuinely fresh seafood speak for itself.

The Kontos family runs the kitchen, and the rest of the menu backs up the seafood focus: grilled octopus, swordfish, a herb-bright spanakopita, and the requisite flaming saganaki making the rounds table to table.

It's a seafood-forward alternative to the neighborhood's meat-and-gyro-heavy mainstays.
