Pupuseria Cafe #1

📍 6533 W 63rd St, Chicago, IL 60638

Pupuseria Cafe #1 earned real local-TV attention — both ABC7 and NBC5's Steve Dolinsky profiled this tiny Clearing cafe, with Dolinsky specifically calling out the pupusas as some of the best in the city, made fresh every day by hand.

The fillings go well past the standard bean-and-cheese: poblano and squash-flower versions get singled out as standouts, alongside roughly a dozen regular options and the ability to build a custom combination.

It's a short drive from Midway Airport, which makes it an easy real-food stop before or after a flight rather than settling for terminal food, and the kind of small, unglamorous storefront that built its reputation entirely on what's coming out of the kitchen.
