Parkview Diner

Iconic/NotablePilsen · Mexican / American Diner Community-sourced, unverified
📍 2000 W 19th St, Chicago, IL 60608

Parkview Diner has been serving Pilsen since 1983 without, by WBEZ's account, changing much of anything about how it looks or runs — a cash-only mainstay that splits its menu evenly between Mexican and American breakfast and lunch staples.

Chilaquiles and gorditas alongside classic diner fare — WBEZ's Best Chicago Diners feature (Nov 2024), cash-only since 1983

Chilaquiles and gorditas sit alongside more standard diner fare, the kind of split menu that makes sense for a neighborhood that's been both working-class and heavily Mexican-American for generations.

It's the sort of place that earns a spot on a 'best diners' roundup precisely by staying exactly the same for over forty years.
