Output Lounge earned its wing reputation the hard way — it won Best Hot Wing at Chicago's Best WingFest in 2015 and has shown up on best-wings-in-Chicago lists from both Eater and The Infatuation, which singles out flavors like savory lemon pepper and roasted garlic BBQ as real alternatives to the usual bar-wing lineup.

The wings have actually won awards, and the garlic parm fries are the side dish people order as a meal on their own.

Owner Eddie Gutierrez and executive chef Fidel Garcia have run the West Town original since 2011, and the concept has since expanded to a Wrigleyville location and a Berwyn outpost, each pulling in a serious sports-bar crowd around 16 TVs tuned to every Chicago team. The Grand Avenue address is a little misleading — the actual entrance sits around the corner on Wood Street, which trips up first-time visitors more often than you'd expect.
