Longman & Eagle

Logan Square Community-sourced, unverified
📍 2657 N Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60647

Longman & Eagle is a Logan Square tavern with six rooms built above it, opened in 2010 as a deliberate throwback to Chicago's old-time inns -- not a boutique-hotel concept dressed up to look like one.

Instead of a chocolate on the pillow, guests get a token good for a whiskey downstairs, where the kitchen has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand. Each of the six rooms is different -- wood floors, exposed brick, real character room to room rather than a repeated floor plan -- and it's a legitimately loud building to stay in if the tavern's still going, which is part of the honest pitch, not a hidden catch.

Rooms start at $125/night, booked through the inn's own calendar rather than a third-party booking engine.
