Labriola packs three concepts into one Michigan Avenue address: a full-service Italian restaurant, a proper bar, and a bakery cafe, all run by founder Rich Labriola, who built his first business, Labriola Baking Company, back in 1993 before eventually selling it and launching this restaurant in early 2015.

A decade later, it's grown into part of a small Doughboy Restaurant Group empire that includes a second Labriola location in Oak Brook and 16 Stan's Donuts & Coffee shops across Chicago. The restaurant is best known for its deep dish pizza, but the happy hour is where real value hides: Monday through Friday from 3 to 6pm in the bar area, $3 chicken parm or meatball sliders, $6 cacio e pepe chips, a $10-12 margherita pizza, and $5 drafts, bellinis, sangria, and select cocktails, with an $8 giant Aperol spritz for anyone wanting something bigger.

Half off reserve wine bottles rounds out a genuinely generous deal for a Magnificent Mile address where happy hours are often an afterthought. The bakery-cafe side adds another dimension entirely — a built-in espresso and pastry counter that makes Labriola as viable for a quick morning coffee as a full dinner, a combination that's kept it relevant on Michigan Avenue for over a decade.
