The kitchen specializes in Mexico City-style tacos, built around suadero and barbacoa, with tripe and cow's tongue cooked right on the grill and a cauldron of meat simmering within view of customers. That combination of unglamorous setting and precise technique is exactly what's pulled in Chicago Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Eater Chicago, and Time Out Chicago over the years, along with television spots on Check, Please!, Chicago's Best, and Netflix's Taco Chronicles. The Little Village Chamber of Commerce named it its October 2024 Business of the Month, a recognition from the neighborhood itself rather than outside press.
Beer and cocktails are served, but you won't find them on a posted menu anywhere -- you have to ask. It's closed Thursdays, so plan the taco run accordingly.
