Kith Treats Chicago hides where you wouldn't expect it: the second floor of the streetwear brand's flagship, just off the Magnificent Mile, behind racks of hoodies and sneakers rather than a storefront you'd stumble into on your own.

The Bam Bam by Action Bronson and The Flat White by Virgil Abloh — named, standing signature swirls, with the Abloh one carrying a real Chicago connection since he grew up in the area before Off-White and Louis Vuitton.

The menu runs on a format Kith built in New York and exported wholesale — cereal-and-soft-serve swirls named after the kind of people who'd actually shop downstairs. The Bam Bam by Action Bronson ($11.50) and The Flat White by Virgil Abloh ($8.50) are the two worth knowing, and the Abloh one carries real local weight: before Louis Vuitton and Off-White made him a global name, he was a Chicago kid, and a dessert named for him sitting two floors above a Gold Coast streetwear shop feels less like a licensing deal and more like the city quietly claiming him back. Everything scales up from a swirl to a Kith Waffle Cone (+$3) or a made-to-order Belgian waffle (+$8), or sideways into a milkshake.

The shop also runs real limited drops rather than just coasting on the standing menu — a Katz's Delicatessen collab brought a Reuben-flavored sundae (vanilla base, Cheez-Its, rye croutons, a dehydrated Swiss chip, an actual pickle on top) through Chicago for a week in early October, though that run closed October 10 and isn't on the menu anymore. Hours run roughly 10 or 11 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. depending which Kith page you trust, so a call ahead beats a wasted trip. No happy hour here — the celebrity-named swirls are the whole pitch, full price, no discount required.
