Kelli's Chicago works a double shift on the second floor of 210 E. 35th Street, and it says so right in the tagline: where work meets leisure.

Since opening in 2024, the Bronzeville spot has been a cafe and co-working room by day, with laptops out and a coffee list that has real personality, and a social lounge by night, when the espresso machine hands off to the bar and the curated playlist takes over. The signature sips lean playful: a Boss Butter Cappuccino built on cookie butter, a Honey Lavender Latte, a Bronzeville Mocha with dark chocolate, a 35th Street Matcha on oat milk, and a Vanilla Twist Latte that quietly sneaks in Baileys. Food covers the whole day, from the 3rd Ward Croissant and the honestly named Big Back Avocado Toast (scrambled eggs and bacon piled on) to paninis, wraps, loaded nachos and Wild Wild Wings tossed in Buffalo, BBQ or the house Kelli's Sauce.

The deals are the reason to plan a midweek visit: $1.50 wings and $7 lemon drops all day on Wing Wednesday, $3 tacos and $7 margaritas on Taco & Tequila Sunday, 20% off cafe items from 10 a.m. to noon, and a $10 happy hour on bites and cocktails Wednesday through Friday from 4 to 6:30 p.m., plus two Saturday windows. Know before you go: it's closed Monday and Tuesday, it's 25-and-up whenever alcohol is being served, there's a soft dress code, and tables can be booked on OpenTable. The Green Line's 35th-Bronzeville-IIT stop is a short walk west.
