📍 3641 Dempster St, Skokie, IL 60076

Khalid Hindawi and Marwan Eleimat — distant relatives — opened Jarasa Kabob in a former Boston Market storefront in 2020, mid-pandemic, built around family recipes Eleimat learned as a teenager in Jerash, Jordan, before running restaurants there himself and moving to Illinois.

The name comes from Jerash's Hellenistic-era name, Jarasa.

Kabobs, shawarma, and falafel alongside made-from-scratch hummus and tabbouleh; it's since grown to a second location in Jefferson Park.
