Giacomo's earns the 'hidden gem' label other Des Plaines write-ups give it honestly — it's the kind of neighborhood Italian spot that doesn't advertise much and doesn't need to, because generations of the same families keep coming back for it.

A Des Plaines Italian hidden gem with a consistent ~4.6 rating, built on generations of the same families coming back for milestone dinners.

A small patio handles the outdoor-dining crowd, and the restaurant has built a real reputation as the place for milestone dinners: anniversaries, birthdays, the dinners people actually plan around. A consistent ~4.6 rating over years of operation says this isn't a lucky run of good reviews, it's a sustained standard.

There's no flashy special here — the loyalty itself is the pitch.
