Since 2015 that's grown into a suburban chain from Oak Brook to Lincolnwood, and the Naperville outpost on Chicago Avenue puts it a block from downtown's busiest corners. The "Ass-Kickin' Margs" are the headline. The house blend is 100% blue agave Tradicional Blanco on the rocks, and the variations run from strawberry-jalapeño to a hibiscus mezcal Jamaica Ahumada to the Mango en Fuego, made with ghost-pepper tequila. The food is crowd-pleasing Mexican done with a little extra. Guacamole del día comes with your choice of pico, pineapple morita or habanero-mango salsa, the queso dip arrives under salsa suiza, and taco plates come three to an order on corn, flour, tostada or lettuce.

Weekend brunch, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, adds tres leches French toast, a birria hash skillet and $15 mimosa pitchers. Happy hour here is all about the food: Monday through Thursday from 3 to 5:30pm, queso cups drop to $5 and guacamole to $8.
