It took over 171 N. Wells, the storefront that used to be the fast-casual Indian spot Curried, and kept the formula tight: a short Thai menu, fresh ingredients and food that comes out the same every time, which is exactly what you want when you've got 40 minutes before a 1 o'clock. The lunch special is the reason to know it. From 11AM to 3PM, $14.50 gets a full Thai combo: pad thai or pad see ew with chicken or fried tofu, drunken noodles, panang curry with satay chicken, or orange chicken with satay, each with crab rangoon and a salad or rice on the side. In a neighborhood where a sad desk salad costs about the same, that's a real deal.
Outside lunch, the regular menu covers the Thai standards plus appetizers like crab rangoon and egg rolls. The other deal is built for offices: order $200 or more at least a day ahead and you get 15% off plus free delivery, and the kitchen will work to a budget or special requests. Order online for pickup or delivery. It's open Monday from 11AM to 3PM, Tuesday through Friday from 11AM to 8:30PM and Saturday from 4 to 8:30PM, and closed Sunday.
