The beer garden alone is worth the trip out, but show up for the Sunday brunch buffet and you'll understand why people build entire weekends around it.

It's named for Francis O'Neill, Chicago's police chief from 1901 to 1905, an Irish immigrant piper who recruited traditional musicians onto the force and transcribed nearly 2,000 tunes in O'Neill's Music of Ireland -- credited with preserving Irish traditional music that had only ever been passed down by ear. The pub honors that legacy with live traditional Irish sessions most nights (Sundays run 5-7pm specifically), a 300-seat beer garden shaded by real trees, and its own private-label pub ale on tap.

The real reason to plan a Sunday around it: an indoor brunch buffet, 10am-2pm, $32 (drinks not included), bookable through Tock -- soda bread comes complimentary with meals either way.
