Chicago Pickle built its Uptown location on Sheridan Road in 2024, two years after owner Mohamad Atieh opened the original in Avondale, and it runs on the same NY-bodega-deli logic throughout: hot breakfast sandwiches, wings, subs, and build-your-own handhelds, anchored by the signature Chicago Pickle sandwich — pastrami, corned beef, coleslaw, and pickles stacked together rather than treated as separate orders.

The chain has grown fast and not always smoothly: the original Avondale shop closed after a September fire and is rebuilding toward an end-of-2026 reopening as a half-deli, half-dessert-bar concept, while a new Wicker Park location just opened in the former Angry Crab space. As of an August 2026 report, this Uptown shop itself was expected to relocate into a much larger former Agami space on Broadway, adding significantly more seating and a full dessert program — crepes, waffles, gelato, and coffee branded as Luca's Cafe & Dessert Bar — so the Sheridan address here may already be in transition.

Whichever address it's running from day to day, the sandwich itself is the reason people keep coming back.
