Central Park Bar opened in October 2021 on the Avondale side of the Logan Square line, taking over the spot where a longtime Polish dive bar and an empty lot used to sit.

Four Entertainment Group (The Owl, Estelle's, Easy Bar) built it around an 80-year-old wooden bar so it would feel like it had been there forever, and named it for both its street and the park-like patio out back — which is the real draw from spring through fall, with its own exterior bar that opens when the weather cooperates. Happy hour is simple and generous: half-price drinks Monday through Friday from 4 to 7pm, across craft cocktails, draft beer and wine. Dogs are welcome (the bar's own copy invites 'furry friends'), kids are not — it's strictly 21 and over — and the calendar fills in the rest of the week with trivia, bingo and emo nights.

The bar opens at 4pm on weekdays and noon on weekends, running until 2am (3am Saturday); the patio closes at 11pm weekdays and midnight on weekends. Heads-up for winter visits: there's no street parking from 3 to 7am between December 1 and April 1.
