📍 1444 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60642

Beauty Bar Chicago took over the old Sonotheque space in West Town in 2010 and kept the original sound system while redoing literally everything else — sparkling glitter paint on the walls, a run of genuine 1960s salon chairs, and a concept that's stayed a novelty in the best sense for over a decade.

The manicure-and-martini combo is the reason people know the name: $10 gets you both, most nights from around 5 to 11PM, administered by an actual manicurist working a real salon station built into the bar.

It's part of a small national chain, but the Chicago outpost has carved out its own identity as a reliable, slightly campy night out — DJs, dancing, and a drink in one hand while the other's getting a fresh coat of polish.
