The cracker-thin, cornmeal-crust pizza is the same DNA the chain has run on since 1969 — order at the counter, grab a mug of Green River or root beer at the bar, find your own table — but the Northbrook menu runs wider than pizza alone. A baked mostaccioli is the house specialty regulars order on reflex, there's a half-pound Black Angus burger and a Philly cheesesteak for anyone not here for the pie, and a Special Board of soups and daily dishes actually rotates instead of sitting there for show.
It's been on this Skokie Blvd corner, near Dundee Road, for more than 40 years without changing the formula, which is exactly the point.
