Alferov, a Ukrainian-born tango enthusiast and culinary school graduate, and Casanova, an artist born in Buenos Aires, met when he signed up for a tango class she taught. Casanova designed and handcrafted the interior himself, built around the glamour of 1920s Buenos Aires rather than a generic steakhouse look bought off a catalog, and the menu leans into Argentine grilled meats and seafood alongside 1920s-era cocktails.
The restaurant has been featured on WTTW's "Check, Please!" Current listings show a 4.7-star rating from roughly 1,900 diners, with free tango lessons Tuesdays and Sundays, social dancing and a tango show on Fridays, and live music on Saturdays.
