Matt Rife

About This Event

Rife started doing stand-up at 15 and spent years as a recurring cast member on MTV's Wild 'N Out before any of that translated into his own audience. The real turn came from TikTok: a clip of one of his sets, "Lazy Hero," pulled in tens of millions of views within days, and crowd-work clips kept the algorithm feeding him new fans faster than traditional stand-up specials ever could.

His 2023 Netflix special, Natural Selection, cemented the crossover but also drew real backlash over a joke about domestic violence — the kind of controversy that's followed the rapid rise. It didn't slow the tour business any: his ProbleMATTic World Tour reportedly sold out its North American, European, and Australian dates within 48 hours.

Worth knowing: this Chicago date was originally booked for October 25, 2026 and has since been moved to January 7, 2027 — worth a quick check with the venue or your ticket seller that it's still locked in before you buy, and resale prices here range anywhere from about $42 to $80+ depending on the site.
