Kyle Kinane

Thalia Hall · Pilsen

About This Event

Kinane isn't just another road comic passing through — he's from here, sort of. Born in Addison, a western Chicago suburb, he cut his teeth doing standup around the city through the 1990s before relocating to Los Angeles in the early 2000s to chase film and TV work, the usual path. Two nights at Thalia Hall is as close to a hometown booking as the touring circuit gets him these days.

His 2010 debut album, Death of the Party, recorded at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in LA, got him named one of Variety's "Ten Comics to Watch" that year, and he followed it with two DVD specials, Whiskey Icarus (2012) and I Liked His Old Stuff Better (2015). Less obviously: if you watched Comedy Central at all between 2011 and 2018, you've heard his voice without necessarily knowing it — he was the network's on-air announcer for seven years.

The deadpan, self-deprecating style comedy nerds know from WTF with Marc Maron and his own podcasts (The Boogie Monster, No Accounting for Taste) is the same thing that's earned him the two-night booking instead of the usual single club date.
