360 CHICAGO sits 1,000 feet up in the old John Hancock Center, right on the Magnificent Mile, and the reason to go is TILT: a glass platform that tips forward and lowers you out over Michigan Avenue with nothing but glass between you and the street below. It's a quick visit compared to a museum β 45 minutes to an hour covers it β which makes it an easy pairing with a Michigan Avenue shopping afternoon.
How to Spend the Day
Any time (hours vary by season)
Sunset is the single best time slot if your schedule allows it β the skyline lighting up below is the signature photo here, and it's worth timing your visit around rather than treating as incidental.
On the deck
CloudBar, on the 94th floor, is worth a stop for a drink with the view if you're not rushing to the next thing.
TILT
Budget it as a separate add-on purchased on-site β it's not automatically part of general admission, so decide before you're standing in line.
After
Michigan Avenue's dense stretch of shopping and restaurants is right outside β no need to plan a separate destination for the rest of the day.
How Chicago CityPASS® Actually Works Here (ELI5)
The short version: buy once online, get a mobile pass instantly, show it on your phone at the door.
- Buy Chicago CityPASS® online (button above) — you get a mobile pass delivered immediately, no printing needed.
- Use the email you buy with to set up the My CityPASS app or my.citypass.com — that's where your tickets, reservations, and attraction details live.
- If the attraction needs a timed entry reservation, reserve it through the app before you go — reservations are subject to availability, so earlier is safer, especially on weekends.
- At the door, show your mobile ticket on your phone. That's it — no separate line, no voucher exchange.
- You have 1 year from purchase to start using the pass; once you use the first attraction, the rest of the attractions are valid for 9 consecutive days.
Chicago CityPASS® covers general admission to the 360 CHICAGO observation deck (or the Fast Pass tier) plus the app-guided tour and WiFi. TILT, the tilting glass platform, is confirmed not included β it's a separate on-site purchase, roughly $15β18, on top of your admission.
Parking
There's no single clean official rate table for this one β 360 CHICAGO's own site confirms the garage entrance (access via Chestnut or Delaware, 6'7" clearance) and recommends booking ahead through SpotHero.
- The building's own garage and nearby Michigan Avenue garages (including the Water Tower Place garage) are the closest options.
- Specific rates fluctuate enough by day/time that we're not posting a number here β check SpotHero or the garage's own site the day you're going rather than relying on an old figure.
Where to Eat
- CloudBar (94th floor, on-site) β a cocktail lounge inside 360 CHICAGO itself, billed as one of the highest bars in the city.
- Michigan Avenue's restaurant and shopping corridor is immediately outside β plenty of options within a couple minutes' walk, from quick-service to sit-down.
- The building's former sit-down restaurant on the 95th/96th floors closed in 2023 and is not currently operating as a restaurant β don't plan around it.
