Marc Maron: Yammering into the Void Tour

The Vic Theatre · Lakeview

About This Event

The WTF podcast made Marc Maron one of the format's actual originators, and this new stand-up hour leans into the same unfiltered, over-thinking-everything voice that built that show. The Vic is a good room for it — small enough that the crowd work still lands.

WTF launched September 1, 2009, recorded from the garage of Maron's own house, which he nicknamed 'The Cat Ranch' — a low-budget answer to a just-canceled talk show, built on long, unguarded conversations with other comedians rather than a normal celebrity-interview format. It became one of the most influential podcasts of the medium's early years, and in June 2015, a sitting U.S. president, Barack Obama, recorded an episode in that same garage, a genuinely strange full-circle moment for a show that started as a guy talking into a mic between his own tools. The podcast ran for 16 years and nearly 1,700 episodes before ending with Obama as the final guest too.

Worth knowing: doors are earlier than showtime — 7:00 PM is the listed start, and tickets run from $68. Check victheatre.com for exact seating.
