Castle (Chicago Children's Museum)
About This Event
Castle is a Chicago Children's Museum-designed exhibit built entirely in-house — a full castle set with secret tunnels, a rope bridge, a tower, a dungeon, a throne room, a wizard's room, a kitchen, a feasting table, and a market, plus a costume closet with hundreds of custom-made outfits and props for kids to dress the part while they play.
It opened back in May 2026 and was popular enough to earn an extended run through January 10, 2027, with the museum periodically reworking parts of the set to match the season — a spookier version of the wizard's room for fall, and a new seasonal treatment planned for winter as the exhibit heads toward its close.
Worth knowing: admission runs roughly $14–15 per person over age 1 at recent pricing, but the museum offers free general admission every Thursday from 5–8 PM — the better plan if cost is a factor, though the castle exhibit itself may have separate hours or timed entry during that window, so check chicagochildrensmuseum.org first.
