After closing Zia's Trattoria in nearby Edison Park in 2021, Calabrese moved a few blocks into the former Iron Horse Ale House building in Norwood Park and rebuilt the concept around something bigger and more social than a standard neighborhood trattoria. The renovation kept the building's real character intact — the original wood-burning oven, bar, stage, and distinctive bow-truss ceilings all survived the transition — while adding one of the larger outdoor patios in the area, complete with a covered three-season room, its own outdoor bar, and umbrella-shaded tables. The menu carries several Zia's classics forward from the old restaurant alongside new dishes and wood-fired pizzas, many built as individual or shareable plates, plus a newly developed dessert program.

Calabrese has pitched the space as equally suited to a quiet date night, a larger family gathering, or an actual private event — live music and socializing are baked into the concept, not an afterthought. For anyone who missed Zia's Trattoria after its closure, this is where that legacy actually landed, just with a bigger room and a patio built for real occasions.
