The tortillas are hand-pressed corn, the fillings run from char-grilled chicken chimichurri and marinated skirt-steak carne asada to masa-crusted avocado and grilled Baja shrimp, and the 'Crunchy Boys' section exists for anyone who wants a hard-shell taco without apology. Two deals make it worth planning around. Every day from 3 to 5pm, happy hour knocks the house Tallboy Margarita (Altos blanco, lime, organic agave) down to $5, along with $5 nachitos under queso blanco and pico — and if there are at least two of you, a full margarita pitcher is $39.
On Sundays every taco on the menu drops to $3 for dine-in, which turns the $5.95 carne asada into the best-value taco downtown for a few hours. Sunday hours are short (noon to 5pm), so the $3 taco window is really an afternoon thing; weekdays run 11am to 8pm and Saturdays noon to 8pm. Like the rest of the Lettuce group, there's a 3.5% surcharge on every check that they'll remove if you ask.
