The core of it is tacos, any three for $18.95 with red rice and black beans served family style: beef barbacoa braised in maguey leaf, pork belly and chicharrones with habanero salsa, chicken mole, chorizo and egg, crispy fish, spicy shrimp and a smashed potato taco for the vegetarians. Starters run to queso fundido with chorizo, elote esquite, bang bang fried shrimp and charred jalapeños the menu calls hot and angry, and the enchiladas come in mole verde, tomatillo or rojo. The deals are where Davis Street regulars live.
Less Sad Hour runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 with $8 margaritas and half-price wine, Taco Tuesday from 8 to 10pm drops every taco to $3.25, and a daily lunch special from 11:30 to 3 gets you two tacos and a salad for $12.95. Open daily from 11:30am, with the kitchen closing 30 minutes before the bar.
