Stussy's Diner took over Bridgeport's biggest restaurant vacancy — the landmark Bridgeport Restaurant, a fixture at 35th and Halsted for 75 years — and announced the new era with a coat of bubble-gum pink paint and neon lights.

Siblings Christina and Rico Nance, with creative director Dahlia Beckett, built a menu that's part classic diner, part genuinely unexpected: the pink strawberry shortcake breakfast (house-made pink whipped cream, eggs, bacon or sausage) is reportedly ordered by every other table, while a birria ramen and milkshakes in flavors like lavender and pina colada show the kitchen isn't content to just run the old playbook.

WBEZ named it to its Best Chicago Diners roundup in November 2024 — a strong debut for a restaurant still writing its own chapter in a 75-year-old space.
