It's Hogsalt's fast-casual spinoff of Au Cheval, so the Signature Double Cheeseburger, served house style with Dijonnaise, onions and pickles, is the reason you're here. Get golden fries with a cheese bun or a cup of truffle cheese sauce. The Famous Fried Chicken Sandwich, four-piece tenders and a plant-based burger cover the rest of the table. Then there's "The Freeze," a full soft-serve setup with hand-dipped cones in cherry or Goldbrick, concretes like Butterfinger Pie and Banana Pudding Pie, handspun shakes and boozy shakes spiked with whiskey, Fernet or Malört.
The beer list stays local, with Half Acre, Off Color and Revolution on draft. Weekday happy hour from 3 to 5pm brings draft beer and cocktail specials, which makes it an easy after-work stop before the train at Union Station or Ogilvie.
