This Halsted Street location sits close enough to the original Au Cheval diner to work as its faster, cheaper stand-in: same double cheeseburger, garlic-aioli fries, and hand-dipped shakes, plus weekday happy hour on draft beer and cocktails, 3-5pm (every location except Gold Coast/Aster Hall).
A 4.1-star rating across 175 Google reviews reflects a real, honest mix — some reviewers feel quality has slipped from the chain's early days, while others still recommend it as a reliably comforting burger.
