The Infatuation flagged it as a 'we haven't been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists' entry as of its review, which is critic-speak for a legitimately new, not-yet-fully-vetted opening — about nine months old as of this writing, still building its reputation one neighborhood trash cleanup and bagel order at a time. For a stretch of East Garfield Park that doesn't always get a coffee shop with this much specific intention behind it, Semaphore reads like exactly the kind of anchor business the corner needed.
