Sabri Nihari

Food + DrinkWest Ridge · Pakistani Community-sourced, unverified
📍 2502 W Devon Ave, Chicago, IL 60659

Sabri Nihari has been a Devon Avenue fixture long enough that a Chicagoist review from 2006 is still floating around online, and the reason is right there in the name: the nihari, a beef stew simmered down into a rich, deeply flavored gravy with meat so tender it barely needs a fork.

$$

That's the dish to build a meal around, but the rest of the menu earns its keep too — crispy vegetable pakora to start, smoky barbecued chicken boti, a spicy karahi chicken — all served in portions clearly meant to be shared across a table, not eaten solo.
