Pizz'amici's entire origin story runs through Instagram — husband-and-wife owners Billy and Cecily Federighi started out making pizza in their own apartment and just giving it away for free, documenting the whole thing online, before that following grew into a first shop, then a second, and finally this 42-seat restaurant, which opened in November 2024.

The pizza itself is tavern-style done properly: a cracker-thin, 14-inch sourdough crust cut into small squares, topped with a mix of mozzarella and sharp provolone, and built diner-by-diner — the menu runs à la carte toppings from $2 (garlic, jalapeños) up to $5 (house-made Italian beef), with a house recommendation to keep it to three toppings max rather than overload the crust. The rest of the menu backs up the specificity: a Caesar salad and meatballs alongside eggplant caponata, caviar served with potato chips for anyone treating themselves, and a Bang Bang Cannoli Pie for dessert alongside gelato and sorbetto. Demand has been a real problem in the best way — with only 42 seats and a tight four-to-five-hour service window Wednesday through Sunday, reservations open exactly 30 days out and disappear fast, and walk-ins have reported two-hour-plus waits just to get a table.

It's closed Monday and Tuesday entirely, running a deliberately narrow schedule that seems to be part of the strategy rather than a limitation. For a restaurant that started as literally free pizza handed out of an apartment, Pizz'amici has turned into one of the tougher reservations in a neighborhood that doesn't lack for pizza options.
