Pilot Pete's is a family-owned restaurant that's operated since the mid-1990s at Schaumburg Regional Airport, an active general-aviation field dating to 1959 — the tropical, aviation-themed decor is filled with memorabilia honoring the restaurant's own "Pilot Pete," and the dining room looks straight out over the active runway, a real draw for aviation-curious families, not just a novelty backdrop.
