The new restaurant has pulled real recognition fast: an OpenTable "Top 100 Brunch Restaurants in the US" nod for 2025, an NBC Chicago "Top Brunch Restaurants 2025" mention, a Tasting Table "Fanciest Brunch Spots in the US" feature, and a spot on Chicago Magazine's August 2024 Hot List. The Chicago Tribune ran a full review in February 2025 and separately included Petite Vie in its 2024 Readers' Choice Awards coverage. Brunch runs Friday through Sunday, 11am-2pm, and there's a daily happy hour Sunday through Friday from 4 to 5:30pm.
Virant is also attached to Gaijin and Vistro Prime, so Petite Vie isn't a comeback project done alone. Pate, escargot, duck confit, and steak frites remain the classics he returned to.
