Parkers' Restaurant & Bar is Select Restaurants' polished American seafood-and-steak house on 31st Street in Downers Grove, a reliable special-occasion room for the western suburbs with a lounge that does a lot of the day-to-day business.

Two credentials stand out: a four-time Wine Spectator Award of Excellence recipient (two glasses since 2017), and an Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana membership, the Naples-based certification for true Neapolitan pizza — not something most suburban steakhouses can claim. Diners also single out the seafood: a bouillabaisse reviewers call extremely generous, and a lobster roll the restaurant says is usually available if you ask. The lounge opens daily at 11am, and happy hour runs there Monday through Friday from 3 to 5:30pm; the restaurant doesn't publish the specials online, so ask at the bar.

Live music plays Wednesday through Saturday from 5 to 8pm, and Sunday brings a jazz brunch from 10am to 2:30pm. Lunch is served weekdays from 11am to 3pm and dinner from 4pm nightly (until 10pm Friday and Saturday). Reservations go through OpenTable, and takeout is available online.
