It's at 21 N Wabash, in the back of a jewelry store: you look for the small sign out front, walk past the display cases of watches and engagement rings, and at the far end there's a counter and a couple of tables serving some of the best-value lunch in the Loop. The food is traditional Middle Eastern and Mediterranean, all of it halal, and the falafel is the reason the regulars keep coming. It comes out fast and fresh, and plenty of people swear they haven't found better downtown. Get it in a sandwich, or go for the mixed combination: falafel, hummus and your choice of meat over rice, for the days when you can't decide. Chicken shawarma, kababs and the Moroccan chicken pastilla cover the meat side, and vegetarians do well with the spinach pie combo.
Add the lentil soup; there are two soups a day, and the rest of the lunch menu rotates too. Service is quick enough for a real lunch hour, and you'll be sitting among Loop office workers who figured this place out years ago. Oasis is a lunch spot, open 10:30am to 4pm on weekdays and 11am to 3pm on Saturday, and closed Sunday. Pickup, delivery and catering are all handled through its website.
