Milly's Lakeview is the Broadway outpost of the pan pizza shop Robert Maleski built out of a pandemic ghost kitchen, and it plays by the same strict rules as the West Town original.

Maleski named Milly's after his grandmother, who taught him to cook, and modeled the pies on Burt Katz's legendary Chicago pan pizza: a thick, buttery crust baked in a seasoned pan until the cheese at the edge fries into a dark, crunchy ring that tastes like the best part of a grilled cheese. The kitchen still makes only a limited number of pizzas each day, so the smart move is to order online ahead of time or call to see what is left, because walking in at 7:30 on a Saturday is how you end up disappointed. The menu reads like a mixtape: No Comply with nduja, ricotta and saba syrup; Leandoer 10 with crème fraîche, roasted mushrooms, pistachios and pesto; Only Pans with cup-and-char pepperoni and Calabrian chili honey; and a Detroit-style Killtaker.

Tens run $25 to $29 and fourteens $30 to $37, and they come uncut to keep the crust crisp. Seating is first come, first served, Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 8pm, a short walk from Belmont and Broadway.
