Miku opened in January 2015 in the Lincoln Avenue storefront that used to be Tank Sushi, and the couple behind it knew the room better than anyone: Sara Katekaew spent a decade as Tank's general manager, and her husband, Stanley Liem, waited tables there.

They reworked it into a warmer, family-friendly dining room of about 80 seats, with banquettes along the walls and a fish case and counter where you can watch the sushi chef work. The name means "lasting beauty" in Japanese, a deliberate promise to stick around. Eleven years later, they have. The best value is lunch, served daily from 11AM to 4PM: any two maki for $14 or three for $18 from a list of about twenty (spicy tuna, unagi, Philly, salmon avocado and so on), with miso soup included. Sushi lunches and bento boxes run $18 to $21. At dinner the signature maki are the draw.

The Flaming Dragon (shrimp tempura, salmon, super white tuna, black tobiko) and the lobster-and-spicy-tuna Fiesta are both $20. Grilled alligator ($20) and a kabocha king crab soup are the less expected orders, and tonkotsu ramen is $19. Reviews and longtime regulars also describe a daily 4-6PM half-off happy hour on rolls and some cocktails. It isn't listed on Miku's own site, so confirm it before you plan a night around it.
