It sits within walking distance of the Vic Theatre and within earshot of Wrigley Field, which makes it a natural stop for a round before a show or a game, and the room is set up for it, with plenty of TVs, games and a new outdoor patio. The kitchen runs an elevated bar-and-grill menu built around made-to-order pan pizzas, and the toppings get creative: an Italian beef pizza, hot honey and pepperoni, chicken pesto, a vodka sausage pie and a pickle ranch pizza for the adventurous. Beyond the pizza, there's the Atlas burger, a Korean fried chicken sandwich, a vodka chicken Parm melt, a fried chicken thigh platter, cheese curds, Gold Rush loaded fries, burrata bruschetta, fish and chips and steak frites, plus salads and wraps for anyone pretending to be good.
The bar mixes classic and seasonal craft cocktails, from hibiscus margaritas to modern twists, and supports local breweries on tap. Matilda also serves happy-hour food and hosts live performances, books private parties and caters, and you can order online for delivery, takeout or curbside pickup. Downstairs is the babyATLAS space, which shares the name.
