Marty's Martini Bar has been pouring upscale cocktails in Andersonville since 2006, built around a small, Toulouse-Lautrec-styled interior and a martini list specific enough to include a Dirty Bird (olive juice and blue-cheese-stuffed olives) and a genuinely unusual Pineapple Upside-Down martini alongside the expected Black Velvet, Cosmopolitan, and creme brulee versions.

Eater Chicago once included it on a 2014 list of the city's most overlooked cocktail bars, and Fodor's has separately praised its drinks directly — real, outside validation for a bar that's stayed under the radar relative to its longevity. In 2024, founder Marty Rogo sold the bar to 2Bears Tavern Group, which runs several North Side LGBTQ-friendly bars, and the new ownership moved the whole operation from its original Balmoral Avenue home to a larger space on Winnemac Avenue — the former Boca Loca Cantina — going from 43 seats to 55 while keeping the original furniture, artwork, and paint colors intact rather than rebuilding from scratch. The bar's two signature community programs, Martinis that Matter (a charitable giving initiative) and a Birthday Club, both carried over to the new location, along with staff, who got a reported 47% base pay increase as part of the acquisition.

A sidewalk cafe was planned to open in 2025. No confirmed website, Instagram, or current hours turned up in research for the new Winnemac address — all pre-move listings still reference the old Balmoral location. No happy hour confirmed, but a specific, decades-old martini list is its own draw regardless.
