Liar's Club

Iconic/NotableLincoln Park · Dive Bar / Dance Club Community-sourced, unverified
📍 1665 W Fullerton Ave, Chicago, IL 60614

Liar's Club has been Chicago's self-declared 'only fez tavern' since 1995 — a gothic, red-lit dive and dance club with fez-shaded lamps, Kiss figurines, velour Elvis icons, and a reputedly haunted second floor that once belonged to guitarist Joe Walsh.

$
Chicago Reader's Best Bar (2025) — a haunted, fez-decorated dance club with DJs spinning Sinatra to the Ramones, $3 cover

It won the Chicago Reader's Best Bar in the 2025 Best of Chicago poll, which tracks for a bar this committed to its own weirdness: DJs cover everything from Sinatra to the Ramones to drum 'n' bass Wednesday through Sunday, a $3 cover gets you in, and the crowd mixes gothics, yuppies, and everyone in between on a tiny, crowded dance floor.

There's no coat check and the cabs thin out fast after close, which is as good a sign as any that the party runs late.
