Xiao long bao come eight to an order in pork, chicken or pork and crab, folded in house, alongside shrimp and pork siu mai, steamed dumplings by the dozen in fillings like pork and mushroom or shrimp, pork and chive, and dumplings swimming in Szechuan red chili oil. The other half of the name is noodles, pulled by hand fresh every day and served in big bowls of braised beef, clear-broth beef brisket, spicy garlic beef, shredded chicken or shrimp and pork wonton soup, plus Beijing-style zha jiang noodles. The kitchen also covers Cantonese classics, and somehow a sushi bar too, with nigiri, hand rolls and sushi combos.
The drink list is a Hong Kong cafe in miniature: milk tea, yuanyang coffee-and-tea, Ovaltine, lemon tea, Thai iced tea, boba, fresh fruit smoothies and freezes like a mango poplar manna with popping bubbles. Most dumpling orders and noodle bowls run about $12 to $13. It's open every day, and first-time online orders get 10 percent off through the restaurant's own ordering site.
